Rescue

If you pulled up a chair in our dining hall and talked with some of our homeless guests, your heart would break as you heard their painful stories. Most have suffered from extreme poverty, physical or mental illness, physical and sexual abuse, addiction, abandonment and neglect. Even though each of our guests has a unique story to share, everyone who walks through our doors has one thing in common: the desire to find a place of peace, where they are welcomed, safe and cared for—where they are given the opportunity for new life. That’s exactly what the homeless and hurting find at Northlands Rescue Mission. One of our primary goals is to offer emergency assistance to those in crisis. To that end, in 2009 we provided 35,489 beds for the homeless and 90,286 meals for the hungry. That’s an average of 80 beds a night and 206 meals a day.

Our emergency services guests can also come here for a hot shower and to use our laundry facilities. And at our free Rescued Treasures store, they receive necessities like warm clothing, blankets and personal care items.
